Possum Companion
The new Possum Companion is anadvanced remote control unit which enables disabled
or elderly people to maintain their independence. Using infra red and radio frequency
technology, the unit can control many appliances in the home or workplace providing:
Security: Alarms, Intercoms, Door Locks.
Access: Door Openers, Window Openers, Lifts.
Communication: Loud Speaking Telephones, Nurse Call, Pager, Remote Operation
of Communication Aids and Computers.
Comfort: Power Sockets, Main Room Lights, Curtain Openers, Blinds, Electrically
Adjustable Beds and Chairs.
Entertainment: TV, Teletext, Satellite and Cable TV, Video, Hi-Fi, Radio,
DVD.
With the ability to store in excess of 250 infra red commands, menu functions are
programmed using the integral set up buttons to meet individuals’ specific needs
– there is no pc needed. The screen is clear and bright, but for those with visual
impairment the Companion has the ability to speak each option in the menus. With
the new integral amplifier, voice output is simply stored using a standard pc microphone.
The new stylish case provides an improved simple mounting solution ensuring true
portability between different rooms in the home and a removable battery cover to
allow easy access for changing batteries. Additional new features include a real
time clock with a daily alarm function and the capability to store fast infra red
signals for modern satellite/cable TV systems.
